TSA Guns 2022
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), as of Friday, employees from the organization had stopped a record 6,301 weapons at airport security checkpoints nationwide.
TSA guidelines state that there is a $1,500 civil penalty for having a gun at an airport checkpoint. The charge increases to $3,000 if the firearm is loaded, which 88% of them are, according to the department.
The TSA is raising the highest possible fine for repeat offenders from $14,000 to $14,950. That does not include legal fees.
