I think it’s safe to say that if you’re a gun owner living in California and you use your gun in self-defense, the police are more than likely going to treat you like a criminal.
The 77-year-old California homeowner shot one of the attempted home invaders after they tried to scale his back fence.
When Oakland police arrived at the home, the grandpa was still holding a female robber at gunpoint, while another home invader in his 40s was lying on the ground, wounded just inside a back fence.
The female robber told police the homeowner shot her friend.
Oakland firefighters and paramedics tried to save the home invader, but he died at the scene.
Oakland police said the homeowner was taken into custody because he did not immediately provide a statement to cops.
Why is this 77-year-old man in jail? Statement or no statement. The California Penal Code is pretty clear.
California is so backward it’s nauseating. They’re obsessed with creating laws for everything but refuse to actually prosecute criminals or keep them in jail when they break these laws, but then they treat their law-abiding citizens like criminals when they use their guns in self-defense.
