In a shocking incident at a Chevron gas station in Houston’s Greenspoint neighborhood, a bystander witnessed an innocent person being robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of a Saturday morning. The armed assailant pistol-whipped the victim and stole his wallet before making a run for it.
The unexpected turn of events unfolded when an armed citizen, unrelated to the initial victim, was parked in front of the store.
Without hesitation, the bystander drew his own firearm and shot towards the fleeing suspect, who was later pronounced dead from the gunshot wound to the upper body.
Houston Police Department Lt. Willkens shared, “Immediately after he’s done (pistol-whipping the man and stealing his wallet), the suspect takes off running. And as the suspect is running away, There’s another individual that is not even related to our victim that’s getting robbed, and we don’t believe related to the individual that was shot, is in another car parked in front of the store.”
Following the incident, the armed bystander checked on the robbery victim and swiftly left the scene, all transpiring in just over a minute. The individual departed before the arrival of the Houston Police.
