Armed Chinese Troops in Texas!

On this Memorial Day, as we honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed for our country, we must also reflect on the ongoing reality of foreign military presence on American soil. Imagine, not hypothetically, but as a stark reality, that a large foreign military base is established in the heart of Texas. Picture thousands of armed foreign troops patrolling our streets in military vehicles, under the pretense of maintaining safety, promoting democracy, or protecting strategic interests.

These foreign forces operate outside US law, with their mistakes resulting in innocent American lives lost, homes ransacked, and neighborhoods terrorized, often without repercussions. The presence of these troops instills fear and anger among Americans, prompting some to band together in defense of our sovereignty. Yet, these defenders are labeled as terrorists or insurgents.

The occupiers believe that increased violence will suppress resistance, but each casualty only fuels further unrest. This perpetual cycle of bloodshed mirrors the sentiments of many citizens in foreign lands where our military bases are stationed.

As we commemorate Memorial Day, we emphasize that ending aggressive foreign policies is not isolationism. True peace and prosperity come from diplomacy, trade, and friendship. Our current path leads to financial ruin, and a shift is inevitable. Just as Rome’s empire fell when its resources were depleted, our foreign policy must evolve before it’s too late.

Join us as we honor our fallen heroes and advocate for a new era of peaceful international relations, reflecting on the true cost of foreign military presence both at home and abroad.

NOTE: It is important to separate hunting down terrorists who attack our country and deserve justice, and not confuse justice with occupying entire countries for a decade under the guise of the “War on Terror” or “Spreading Democracy”. Terrorists are individuals and small groups, so why are we picking fights with entire nations? BILLIONS for Defense, NOT A PENNY for Empire.

This speech is called “Imagine” and it was given by Ron Paul on March 11, 2009.
