We Don’t Have A Gun Problem, We have a Chicago Problem | Over 100 People Shot July 4th Weekend

America does not have a Gun Violence Problem; it has a Chicago problem. More specifically, America has an inner-city violence problem, and Chicago is a prime example of this.

Over the July 4th weekend, over 100 people were shot, with 17 of them being fatal, in anti-YOU-have-a-gun Mayor Brandon Johnson’s Chicago.

Chicago has all the gun control politicians are trying to push on American citizens. They have a 72-hour waiting period on gun purchases, a red flag law, an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, and a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card requirement.

Not to mention, the process of acquiring a FOID card involves a “thorough background check” by the Illinois State Police.

Chicago was responsible for over 30% of the gun deaths over the 4th of July weekend.

But this isn’t new, as a matter of fact it’s a thing.

If guns were the issue, these deaths would have been widespread throughout the country and a lot higher.

Instead, they’re concentrated in particular parts of some of our big cities.

At what point are we going to acknowledge there is a very specific problem going on in these places that has nothing to do with guns.

Then, the media has the audacity to pad actual mass shooting stats with inner-city street violence to hide the fact that mass shootings are exceptionally rare.

The reason people think they’re so common is because the media and anti-gun groups keep calling everything a mass shooting.

Two gangs shooting at each other isn’t a mass shooting. One person shooting at another person amongst other people isn’t a mass shooting. It’s street violence.

The distinction matters because the only way to solve the issue is to understand why it’s happening, and each problem requires a different solution.

You don’t try to solve self-destructions the same way you would try to solve street violence, and you don’t try to solve school shootings the same way you try to solve domestic violence.

I find it funny that anytime a gun is used in a gun death, it’s a gun problem, but when people use guns to save their lives, they don’t call it a gun solution.
